What StudyWire is
A study tool: you upload your own course material, and an AI answers questions from it with citations, quizzes you, and reminds you to review. It is a study aid, not a substitute for the material, your instructor or your judgement. Answers can be wrong; the citations are there so you can check.
Your account
- You must be 16 or older and use a real email address you control.
- Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person per account. Instructors may create classes; students join with a code.
Your material and copyright
- You are responsible for what you upload. Upload only material you own or are allowed to use for your own study — your textbooks, your notes, the slides and recordings your instructor gave the class. Before your first upload you affirm this, and the affirmation is recorded with its date and policy version.
- StudyWire does not check uploads for ownership and does not decide fair use for you. If a claim is made against Recovery Transparency Technologies LLC because of your upload, you cover the cost of answering it (indemnity), to the extent the law allows.
- It stays yours and stays private. We take only the permission needed to store it, index it, show it back to you (and to your class, if you uploaded it there), and send excerpts to the AI services listed in the privacy policy to answer you. Do not upload other people's private information.
- We remove material on a valid takedown notice, tell the uploader, accept counter-notices, and close the accounts of repeat infringers. The procedure and our designated agent are on the Copyright page.
Acceptable use
Do not use StudyWire to break the law, to cheat where your institution forbids AI assistance, to attack the service, or to harass anyone. Your institution's academic-integrity rules apply to you, not to us; ask your instructor what is allowed.
Plans, payments and refunds
- Free, Student and Pro plans are per person; Educator is per class (seats included, extra seats priced per seat). Each plan has a monthly AI allowance, a weekly question limit and storage, shown on the Plan page before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew monthly through Stripe until cancelled; cancelling keeps the plan to the end of the paid month. Top-ups and class refills are one-time and apply to the current month. Extra storage is sold in 5 GB units added to the same subscription, prorated by Stripe, removable any time; it ends when the subscription ends.
- If something we did went wrong, write to us within 14 days and we will make it right, including a refund of the last payment where fair.
- Past the allowance, answers come as cited passages without AI writing until the next month, a top-up or a bigger plan.
Service and availability
We aim to keep StudyWire available but do not guarantee it; we may change or discontinue features with notice. Back up anything you cannot afford to lose. Export is one click.
Liability
StudyWire is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Recovery Transparency Technologies LLC is not liable for indirect losses, lost grades or lost data beyond the amount you paid us in the preceding three months.
Ending
You can delete your account at any time from the account menu. We may close accounts that break these terms, with notice where practical and with export offered.
