During consolidation the hippocampus replays recent experience and gradually trains cortical networks to hold the memory on their own. Over weeks the cortex can retrieve it without the hippocampus, which is why older memories survive hippocampal damage better than recent ones.
This demo is not linked to an actual textbook. In your account, a citation opens your own uploaded page in the Reader with the sentence the answer relied on highlighted.

Three AI judges read each closed session and quote where a student went wrong.
How session reads work
Three independent judges. Three different AI models read the same session separately. A misconception only counts when a majority quote the student saying it, and only counts as resolved when a majority saw the student correct it later.
In the student's own words. The judges quote the student, never the tutor. The Observe view highlights those sentences, red where unresolved and amber where the student got there alone. Mark reviewed clears the flag.
Where the class struggles. Each quoted misconception is anchored to the chapter the answer cited and grouped with other students' versions, so the next lecture goes where the class needs it.
Reads are stored once; opening the dashboard never calls a model.

Does StudyWire use the internet or my course materials?
Your courses. Your materials. Answers you can verify.
StudyWire puts your textbooks, lecture notes, slides, and other course materials at the center of every answer. Ask a question, and StudyWire finds the relevant information, shows you where it came from, and cites the source. If your materials don't contain the answer, StudyWire tells you instead of guessing.
Learn beyond a single course.
What you learn in psychology might connect to biology. A concept from history might help explain something in leadership. StudyWire's Connect feature discovers meaningful relationships between your courses and brings relevant insights together, with clear source references so you always know where the information originated.

You control which courses contribute to your answers. Keep your questions focused on one class, explore your entire library, or temporarily exclude a course from cross-course connections. Your instructor's shared materials can also be included in your learning experience.

Is my study material used to train AI models?
Your materials belong to you. Transparency matters to us.
StudyWire does not use your uploaded textbooks, notes, or course materials to train its own AI models.
To power features like AI tutoring, quizzes, transcription, and document search, StudyWire works with specialized AI providers. Our tutoring and transcription providers operate under terms that prohibit training on the data we send them.
Our search provider, Voyage AI, currently operates under terms that may permit training on submitted content. We have not yet completed the available training opt-out process.
We believe you deserve to know exactly how your information is handled. Our Privacy Policy explains which providers process your data, what information they receive, and their applicable training practices.
We're committed to making those practices clear so you can make informed decisions about the materials you upload.
What can my instructor see?
Your learning in their class. Nothing from your personal study space.
StudyWire gives instructors insight into how students are learning, so they can provide better support—not just measure performance.
A clearer picture of your progress.
When you join a class, your instructor can view your activity within that class, including study conversations, participation, quiz performance, and areas where you may need additional help.
StudyWire also provides AI-powered session insights that highlight concepts you've explored, potential misunderstandings, and moments when you've demonstrated improved understanding. These insights help instructors recognize where students need support and adjust their teaching accordingly.
Your personal learning stays personal.
Your instructor cannot access your other courses, privately uploaded materials, personal AI study memory, or reminder and Focus Awareness settings. They also cannot view activity from before you joined their class.
Sharing your Knowledge Web is your choice.
If you want, you can share the map of how your courses connect with one class's instructor, from that course's menu. They see your course names and how many connections were confirmed between them, never your files, notes or chats. It is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time.
Transparency goes both ways.
When an instructor opens a student's study transcript, StudyWire records who accessed it, when, and which transcript was viewed.
You're in control of your enrollment.
If you leave a class, your instructor's access to your study conversations ends. Your personal materials remain yours.
Class session insights are retained until the class is deleted or one year after the class was created, whichever comes first.

Can I download my data or delete my account?
Absolutely. Your data belongs to you, and you're always in control.
StudyWire makes it easy to access, download, or delete your personal information directly from your account settings. No support tickets, no complicated requests, and no waiting for approval.
Your information, whenever you need it.
Download a copy of your StudyWire data, including your courses, study conversations, quiz results, learning progress, AI study memory, class participation, and account activity. Your original uploaded materials remain accessible separately in your library.
Your account. Your decision.
If you choose to delete your account, StudyWire removes your uploaded materials, study conversations, learning history, personal settings, and associated class activity. Your information is also removed from instructor dashboards.
Active subscriptions are canceled as part of account deletion, and remaining account data in routine backups is cleared within seven days.
Privacy doesn't end when you leave.
StudyWire retains only anonymized AI usage cost totals for operational reporting. These totals are no longer connected to your identity.
